Bali - Island of the Gods

Ok, we must be the only Aussies over 18 to have never visited Bali at least 3 times let alone once. So it was time when close friends of ours, now Mr and Mrs Vasanthakumar decided to tie the knot on Nusa Lembongan. Although we were here for the wedding we were also itching to catch up with good buddy Greg Howell whom we met in Lobitos back in 2009 while travelling through Peru.

Greg is well traveled with fluent Spanish and now competent in Balinese having set himself up with a neat Balinese house in a community about half way between Kuta and Uluwatu. Greg has been living here for 2 years teaching English at the international school just around the corner. With good hours, good surfing and good food everyday what else could he possible need or want in life - maybe some good free loaders to look after?
The surfs pumping...WHERE are those damn Aussies!?

Past stories were shared and new ones created.  With our trusty scooter sorted (‘Vince’) we roamed the Bhukit and beyond with Greg and ‘Betty’. Steve’s brother Pete and partner Kristen were also in town! The days consisted of dawn patrols, yoga, tasty Balinese food, and of course the sunset sessions. A temple here, another one there, we also scootered around half of the island and got involved in a high speed police chase. Here are some of the images captured on Bali.
