There comes a time in a man’s life when he has to make a tough decision. For Suri (aka the ‘King’ -funkiest Sri Lankan Novacastrian - can spin a beat or 2!) it was either playing with his beloved staffy’s (Zeb) testicles or Linda’s fashion label for the rest of his life? So Linda won and we were all invited, except Zeb, to Nusa Lembongan for Ganushkasas Love Retreat. Silly name you might say? Well not a silly idea – although part of Bali this micro paradise not 30 minutes from the mainland has it all. You can sip away on your 5th cocktail or beer by 5pm, you can dive into epic snorkelling at ‘the wall’, or what this was really all about was Suri inviting his mates over here for a 5 day surf trip. This place is loaded with waves and yep its Bali so the waves are loaded with people. The King must have signed a deal with Huey as there was swell for the whole 5 days, even enough to justify a boat trip to Desert Pt on the day of the wedding! Jess stepped it up another level with ease, from the sand bottom of Noosa to the sharp reef of Razors although the escort service was called in when within half an hour it went from a small period 2ft to a 4-5ft groundswell. Guests poured in from all 4 corners of the globe and the evening had arrived. Suri was looking nervous but sharp, the guests were sunburnt and tanked, and aw my goodness when Linda walked around the corner arm in arm with her father there was no mistaken - Suri you made the right choice buddy, well done, you got yourself a Pieca (Sri Lankan term of endearment)! The party started but not before some traditional Balinese dancing. The speeches were hilarious and the biggest pool party Lembongan had ever seen erupted. Congrats Linda and Suri, and thanks again for the invite.
